Strategy providers create strategies that investors copy, resulting in strategy providers earning performance fees from successful trades. This article outlines what you need to know as a strategy provider.
About Social Trading
Social trading is a service in which investors copy strategies set up by strategy providers and earn a profit together.
Social Trading availability will depend on the country of residence. Read more about Social Trading country availability.

Trading accounts will return a “trading disabled” error in the trading terminal if trading is attempted before making a qualifying first deposit.
Your strategy can be viewed by potential investors from their PA or the Social Trading app. Each strategy has the following information:
- Strategy name
- Strategy Provider’s name
- Country
- Return since strategy’s inception
- Maximum drawdown
- Risk score
- Strategy description
- Symbols
- Billing period
Investors are provided with an Overview of the strategy, which includes information such as the number of investors, strategy equity, minimum investment, performance fee, account type, and leverage. A strategy’s open and closed orders are also displayed under the Orders tab.
Boosting your strategies
Here are a few tips to make your strategies more effective and attractive to investors:
- The strategy name should be clear, eye-catching, and spelled correctly to garner trust from potential investors.
- Carefully consider your strategy settings (e.g., leverage, performance fee rate, minimum investment amount); the better they are for investors, the more likely they are to invest.
- Upload a profile picture that stands out from the rest. The more professional, the better.
- Add a bio to your profile that describes yourself as a trader. Include your interests and hobbies to connect with your investors.
- The strategy description is an opportunity to inform investors of your trading strategy, the reasons for trading a particular instrument, the strategy’s focus, and your trading style.
