Account type | A distinctive set of trading conditions tailored to meet the needs of diverse trader profiles. Copy trading offers two available account types: Standard and Pro. |
Billing period | The billing period measures a strategy's performance over a period of time to record a performance fee. It covers a calendar month and ends on the last Friday of the month (23:50 UTC+0 to 23:59:59 UTC +0), with a new billing period opening immediately after. |
Commission | When creating a strategy, the strategy provider determines the percentage between 0 and 50% of profit that investors will pay to the strategy provider at the end of a trading period. |
Copy ratio | The ratio between an investor’s and a strategy provider’s investment in a strategy. |
Copy trading platform | The platform that brings strategy providers and investors together. |
Copying coefficient | A calculation used to determine the volume of trades copied from the strategy provider to the investor’s investment account. |
Copying process | Defined as the act of an investor copying orders made by the strategy provider from a strategy. |
Drawdown | Drawdown measures a single consecutive loss from the highest point of equity to its lowest point. Maximum drawdown is defined as the largest measure of drawdown during a time period and/or since the strategy's creation. |
Investment | An account created by an investor when they start investing and copying a strategy. |
Investment wallet | What the investor uses to fund their account or portfolio to start copying trades. Funds in the investment wallet are not used in any strategies, which differentiates it from invested money. |
Investor | A person who copies strategies made by a strategy provider with the intent to grow their capital. |
Investor's Personal Area | Used by an investor to manage their profile, investments, and account settings. Found by logging into the Exness Personal Area and clicking the Copy Trading tab. |
Leverage | The ratio of margin to loan capital. Leverage is set by the strategy provider and includes 1:50, 1:100, and 1:200. |
Maximum drawdown | This is defined as the greatest loss the strategy has suffered during the selected period. |
Personal Area | The main area accessed when logging into an Exness account. |
Performance fee | The commission paid to the strategy provider is based on the profitability of their strategy and is calculated at the end of each billing period, based on the equity at the time of the billing period closing. If there is insufficient free margin, no performance fee will be paid. |
Portfolio | The list of investments in copied strategies that an investor has made. |
Pro account | An MT4 copy trading account type for strategy providers to create a strategy. |
Risk score | A score assessment from 1 to 10 of how risky a strategy is based on several factors. (1 - lowest risk, 10 - highest risk) |
Spread | The amount of difference between Bid and Ask pricing. |
Standard account | An MT4 copy trading account type for strategy providers to create a strategy. |
Stop an investment | When an investor stops copying a strategy. |
Strategy | A strategy is an account (Standard and Pro available) managed by the strategy provider. It tracks the strategy provider’s' trading activity and facilitates the copying process. |
Strategy equity | The total value of a strategy provider’s account. |
Strategy performance indicators | A set of parameters used to rate strategies, such as risk score and return. |
Strategy provider | The strategy provider creates strategies, makes trades, and earns a performance fee based on their trading and commission from investors copying their strategies. |
Strategy provider's commission | This is the commission paid to the strategy provider by investors if an investment becomes profitable after the trading period is over. |

Strategy provider’s profit | The profit earned by the strategy provider. |
Swap | Swap or currency swap is when parties exchange interest and principal payments on debt denominated in different currencies. Islamic strategy providers have swap-free strategy accounts. |
Tolerance factor | Refers to the limit placed on the maximum amount of investment. This feature protects both investors and strategy providers, operating as a safety mechanism. |
Total TV limits | The total volume of lots that the strategy provider and investor have open combined. |
Trading period | The period for which the commission is calculated. Each period ends on the last Friday of the month from 23:50 UTC+0 to 23:59:59 UTC +0, and the commission is paid out at this time. |
Trading reliability period | TRL indicates how well strategy providers manage trading risks based on their 12-month performance and trading activity. It is calculated from the average of the safety score and Value at Risk (VaR) score, reflecting their historical reliability. |
Unregistered user | A person who has downloaded the copy trading app but hasn’t registered a Personal Area (PA). |
