As an investor, understanding what information to look for within a strategy is essential to investing in the right strategy for your investment goals. We recommended learning these terms in our Copy Trading Glossary.
To browse for strategies, you can do so in the Copy Trading app and Copy Trading web in your Personal Area (PA). Here's how:
In the Copy Trading app:
- Log in to the Copy Trading app.
- Head to Browse to view the available strategies.
In the Copy Trading web PA:
- Log in to your Personal Area (PA).
- Click on the Copy Trading tab.
- Under Discover strategies, you can view the available strategies.
Strategies categories
The categories available are:
- All strategies
- Most Copied
- Recently viewed
- Return with moderate drawdown
- Best return for 3 months
- Low fee
- New strategies
On the Copy Trading web in your PA, click on the Favourite tab to view strategies you have favourited.
Note: Strategies that experience a stopout will no longer be displayed under any categories or in the list of all strategies; they will only be available via a direct link.
Strategy information
Once you've selected a strategy to view, here's what the information displayed can tell you about a strategy:
- Trader's name - Name of the strategy provider, including their country.
- Strategy name - The name of the strategy
- Return - The return since the strategy was created.
- Maximum drawdown - A maximum drawdown is the largest peak-to-trough decline in a strategy's equity resulting from trading activity since the strategy's inception.
Tip: If the maximum drawdown is high, the risk of capital loss is likely also high.
Overview section
- Investors - The number of current investors.
- Strategy equity - The current total amount of funds available in the strategy.
- Minimum investment - This is the minimum investment amount required. The strategy provider may change this amount at any time.
- Performance fee - This shows the performance fee percentage investors payto strategy providers when an investment returns a profit.
- Account type - The strategy account type, either Standard or Pro.
- Leverage - Leverage is expressed as a ratio of the strategy provider's own funds to borrowed funds.
Tip: You can see which strategies are most popular from the number of investors they have. The higher the leverage, the more risky the strategy.
Statistics section
- Return - This graph shows the strategy's equity change resulted by trading activity for the selected period. Deposits and withdrawals do not affect the percentage return. This data is updated once per hour.
- Equity - The equity graph displays total amount of funds available in the strategy account. This data reflects real-time updates, while values for previous days correspond to data recorded at 23:00 UTC.
- Description -This section usually describes the strategy provider's trading strategy, including which instruments are traded and the trading conditions they have set up.
- Symbols -The instruments traded with the strategy.
- About trader - The strategy account type, either Standard or Pro.
- Billing period - This section displays the current timeline within a billing period. Billing periods end on the last Friday of the month, and a new period begins then.
Orders section
- Open - Currently open orders within a strategy.
- Closed - Previously closed orders within a strategy.
