As an investor, understanding what information to look for within a strategy is essential to investing in the right strategy for your investment goals. We recommended learning these terms in our Copy Trading Glossary.
To browse for strategies, you can do so in the Copy Trading app and Copy Trading web in your Personal Area (PA). Here's how:
In the Copy Trading app:
- Log in to the Copy Trading app.
- Head to Browse to view the available strategies.
In the Copy Trading web PA:
- Log in to your Personal Area (PA).
- Click on the Copy Trading tab.
- Under Discover strategies, you can view the available strategies.
Strategies categories
Select a strategy from the available categories:
- All strategies
- Most Copied
- Recently viewed
- Return with moderate drawdown
- Best return for 3 months
- Low fee
- New strategies
Strategies that experience a stopout will no longer be displayed under any categories Or in the list of all strategies, they will only be available via a direct link.
On the Copy Trading web in your PA, click on the Favourite tab to view strategies you have favourited. On the Copy Trading app, your favourite strategies are under the Favourite tab (star icon).
Filtering strategies
Additionally, you can filter the All strategies category with available filters such as return, timeframe, drawdown, number of investors, performance fee, time from first trade, and the strategy provider's country on the Copy Trading app.
Strategy information
Once you've selected a strategy to view, here's what the information displayed can tell you about a strategy:
- Trader's name - Name of the strategy provider, including their country.
- Strategy name - The name of the strategy
- 3-month Return - The return since the strategy was created.
- Maximum drawdown - A maximum drawdown is the largest peak-to-trough decline in a strategy's equity resulting from trading activity since the strategy's inception.
- Active investors - The current number of investors copying this strategy.
Tip: If the maximum drawdown is high, the risk of capital loss is likely also high.
Overview section
- Return - This graph shows the strategy's equity change resulted by trading activity for the selected period. Deposits and withdrawals do not affect the percentage return. This data is updated once per hour.
- Equity - The equity graph displays total amount of funds available in the strategy account. This data reflects real-time updates, while values for previous days correspond to data recorded at 23:00 UTC.
- About strategy - Displays the strategy creation, leverage, account type, and strategy equity.
- Summary of terms - Minimum investment amount required to invest, performance fee percentage that investors pay to strategy providers when an investment returns a profit, and current billing period.
- Trading instruments - The most commonly traded instruments with the strategy.
- Open orders - Currently open orders within a strategy. Click Show all to view the list of currently open and closed orders with details such as symbol, type, opening time, lots, and profit in USD under the Orders tab.
- Strategy news - Displays the strategy provider's announcements regarding the strategy. Click Show all to view all announcements under the Strategy news tab.
The About Strategy Provider tab showcases information about the strategy provider as well as the trading reliability level (TRL) and TRL history.
Tip: You can see which strategies are most popular from the number of investors they have. The higher the leverage, the more risky the strategy.
